SEASON TICKET PHOTOS

My first memory of shooting pictures was in the summer of 1977. I was 11 years old and my Grandfather took me to a Reading Phillies minor league baseball game. I was so excited and brought along the family camera. I snapped thru my entire role of 24 pictures just knowing that Sports Illustrated would be calling me the next morning. Unfortunately, my 11 year old mind did not fully understand how film worked. Almost every frame was ruined when I opened the camera before rewinding the film.

I started getting serious about making images as a high schooler -- proudly carrying around my Pentax 35mm body with an wide array of lenses. I got pretty good while shooting events for the yearbook. I continued to shoot recreationally in college.

When a minor league baseball team moved to Round Rock, Texas in 2000, I was one of the first season ticket holders. I started brining my point and shoot digital camera to games. This experience reignited my passion I had for baseball photography. Soon I was displaying my pictures on my personal web site and getting a lot of visitors.

Eventually I got noticed by another photographer shooting for Baseball America. He graciously introduced me to the BA photo editor and I have not stopped since.
